- Ards Historical Society
The Ards Historical Society was founded in 1967 to help foster interest in all aspects of the history of the area. Community Life, Place Names, Dialects and Customs. They also endeavour to provide facilities to study groups, unearth and document relevant historical information and encourage the preservation of objects, which may be in danger of destruction. The area in which the Society is particularly interested is the general North Down area.

- Lancaster bomber, EM-N (ED627)
Web site to the memory of the crew of this Lancaster bomber. On Friday 27 August 1943, a Lancaster Mk III took off from RAF Langar, near Nottingham, to bomb targets in the city of Nurnberg in Germany.
The aircraft, ED627 with the markings EM-N of No 207 Squadron, took off at 21.29pm and headed south towards Beachy Head, across France and on deep into Germany. For some of the crew it was to be their 13th operation, an operation from which none of them were to return.
